Check the maximum wattage load

Ideally, you need a transformer whose maximum wattage load is equal to or greater than the total wattage of your electrical fixtures. So, for example, if you want to power 60watts light bulbs, your transformer should have a maximum wattage load of at least 60watts. Similarly, if your fixtures have a total wattage of 180watts, you need a maximum wattage load of 180watts or more. Failure to do so means that your power transformer will not be able to meet your power needs.
