Why Is Palmetto Turf Easy to Mow?

Wanting a new, lush lawn in your garden doesn't mean that you want to spend a lot of time maintaining your grass. If your current lawn has a been a pain to look after, then you may be bored with having to mow it all the time.
Palmetto turf is worth considering. This turf can create a flourishing lawn that doesn't need a lot of mowing or maintenance. Why is this a good lawn option?
Palmetto Turf Coverage
Palmetto turf typically gives you good ground coverage. It spreads across the ground quickly and evenly. This even coverage can make lawns easier to maintain.
For example, the main parts of palmetto turf tend to grow close to the ground. Even when the grass grows tall enough to need a mow, you generally don't have to worry about getting an even cut or about exposing brown patches on the lawn.
The green parts of palmetto grass are usually close to the ground. You also don't tend to get brown patches or thatch issues under the tips.
Thatch is generally made up primarily of dead materials. So, if you mow grass that has thatching under it, then you may cut off the green parts of the grass and allow the thatched brown parts to show through. This isn't so much of a problem with palmetto grass as long as it is healthy. Lower-lying leaves keep the lawn looking green even after a short cut, and you shouldn't see brown patches after a mow.
Palmetto Turf Growth Rates
Some grasses grow faster than others. Given the right conditions, some lawns seem to grow instantly after a mow. To keep your lawn short and looking good, you may need to mow your lawn more often than you actually want to.
Palmetto turf often grows faster horizontally than it does vertically. It has a slower upward growth than some other grasses.
While this grass still needs to be mowed to keep it in good shape, you may find that you can get away with less frequent mows than you would with other grass types. Mowing this kind of lawn may also take less effort.
You're less likely to have to worry about dealing with excessive growth with palmetto grass. Even if you don't get around to mowing your lawn for a few weeks, it will generally stay quite short even after a growth spurt.
